2D (QR) CODES
2D codes are able to encode hundreds of bytes. The most common symbologies are QR-Code, DataMatrix (ECC200) and PDF417.
1D (LINEAR) CODES
Linear barcodes (1D codes) are usually used in logistics and industry for serial numbers, product IDs, etc.
EAN / UPC CODES
EAN and UPC bar-codes are used in retail point of sale for product identification. The composite barcodes hold additional data.
MOBILE TAGGING
QR-Code and DataMatrix can be used to encode URLs and phone numbers. Read the generated codes with your smartphone!
GS1 DATABAR
GS1-DataBar is intended for trade item identification and retail point of sale (POS) applications.
ISBN CODES
ISBN, ISSN and ISMN barcodes are used to identify books, periodicals and media.
POSTAL CODES
Postal bar codes are used by postal service providers in several countries to optimize mail delivery.
BUSINESS CARDS
2D codes are used to encode contact data for business cards. MeCard and vCard barcode formats are supported.
EVENTS CODES
These 2D codes encode event data. When scanned with a smartphone like iPhone or Android an appointment is created.
WIFI CODES
This code is used to configure Wi-Fi settings for Android devices. The current version of ZXing is able to scan it.
